Professor David B. James explains Vee-Arnis-Jitsu's 10 Commandments of Self-Defense

Adult Street Tactics

VEE-ARNIS-JUJITSU

Vee-Arnis-Jujitsu specializes in street self-defense and urban combat for adults. People who become involved in this amazing system vary from civilians who have made the decision to never become a statistic, military and law enforcement personnel who throw themselves in harm's way on a daily basis, black belts from other martial arts, and people who have no experience in the arts. The common thing that brings them all together is their feeling that none of their time on the training floor is ever wasted. Each time they come to the school they focus on what they came here for, EFFECTIVE STREET TACTICS!

Developed in New York City, Vee-Arnis-Jujitsu was the culmination of a lifetime of work by Professor Florendo Malcruz Visitation (Professor Vee). After years of training, he developed and constantly revamped this program to be the most effective system available to deal with the threats in today's society. After his retirement, Professor Vee passed "The Torch" to Professor David B. James. Since becoming the head of the system, Professor David has taken it to a new level, transforming each lesson into something that you can learn in a short period of time and in which you can see true value every time you get on the floor.

Vee-Arnis-Jujitsu is often called the "system of systems." It is primarily comprised of techniques from a variety of martial arts including Vee-Jitsu, Arnis, Muay Thai, and to a lesser extent Boxing, Judo, Aiki-Jujitsu, and the Grappling Arts. Street tactics such as eye gouges, groin strikes, biting, and improvised weapons are encouraged in this system, not frowned upon. Since there are no rules in real situations, you will be trained how to effectively use a combination of martial arts techniques and street tactics to dominate any situation that may arise. You will be taught how to apply these techniques within the concepts that make Vee-Arnis-Jujitsu what it is. Often referred to as the "Ten Commandments of Self-Defense," these concepts make the techniques work in real street situations.

The true value of Vee-Arnis-Jujitsu is that it will not take years to master, in order to be effective in the street. Male or female, big or small, there is no other art or system that will make you as proficient, in as short a period of time, as Vee-Arnis-Jujitsu will. The goal is to make you an effective self-defense practitioner first and foremost, a martial artist second. The amount of confidence you will gain in just a few months will be staggering. Imagine walking with the true confidence of someone who knows that their training will be effective no matter what the world throws their way. You can have that feeling in months, not years. Having a black belt is not, and should not be, required to be capable of defending yourself in real world situations.

Are you interested in learning to defend yourself against muggings, multiple attackers, weapons attacks (knife, stick, and firearms), and trained fighters (like boxers and grapplers)? Or would you like to learn edged and impact weapons tactics, joint manipulation and limb destruction techniques, throws and takedowns, striking techniques or ground fighting tactics? If your answer to either question, or both, is "yes" you have come to the right place. Vee-Arnis-Jujitsu covers it all.

When you become a student all the equipment needed to participate in the class is provided to you (with the exception of a groin protector and mouth piece). In addition you will have access to all the equipment in the school. The Defense Institute utilizes the most modern protective equipment available to ensure high-level realistic training with a minimal amount of injuries. Full impact gear is provided by the school whenever high impact scenario training is scheduled. This guarantees that you, the student, can go full speed without fear of injuring your partner or yourself.

Rank testing is a one week process that all students in the system participate in. This process takes place semi-annually, in June and December. During that week students must complete a minimum amount of classes, depending upon their rank, and during those classes their knowledge and application of that knowledge is evaluated. A solid student will typically take between 3 and 5 years to obtain the rank of Black Belt.
